I’m Timon Stampfli a software engineer from Switzerland. I’m interested in many areas in Computer Science including formal methods and software corectness, security, tools and systems for building, deploying and operating software systems as well as application development itself.
During my high school time I participated in competitive programming competitions and went to IOI twice as contestant for Switzerland. I’m still participating in competitive programming as a volunteer organizer. During a ~three year period I tinkered on my own small hobbyOS.
For more than 15 years I’ve been part of Dolansoft, a group of friends who privately runs their own infrastructure, including a Kubernetes Cluster, fully self-hosted core infrastructure and numerous workloads including this website.
After studying at ETH Zurich, my career took direction towards DevOps, Kubernetes and Linux, led by the experience from my leisure activities. Recently I’ve been very interested in startups and I’m working on founding one myself.
My biggest passion next to tinkering with computers is language learning. I am very interested and actively learning both constructed and natural languages.
